According to a study in laboratory animals apple juice consumption reduces the formation of beta amyloid plaques associated with neurodegerativas diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
Were fed normal mice and mice genetically engineered to be deficient in apoE protein, which promotes the formation of plaques, with complete and deficient diets lead to degeneration and in groups with and without apple juice dissolved in water.
In all cases, mice supplemented with apple juice showed reduced formation of beta-amyloid plaques, but not enough to offset the increases resulting from the genetic predisposition of the apoE protein deficiency.
